What makes a beach club really good? The terrace, the music, the bar, the atmosphere. All true. But there is one room most hospitality venues leave out of that picture.
The toilet.
At R-Port Beachclub in Rotterdam they saw it differently. And honestly, so did we.
A job we will not forget in a hurry
We installed five 30 centimetre mirror balls in the toilets at R-Port Beachclub. Every cubicle got its own ball, lit by a Beamz BWA63 LED AluPAR spot. The result: open the door and you walk into a tiny disco.
Is that odd? A bit. Would we do it again? Absolutely.
(We are sharing this around 1 April, but it really is not a joke. The balls have been up since last year and they are still spinning.)
Why this is clever
A beach club sells a feeling. The drinks are only part of it. Guests come for the atmosphere, the vibe, the whole picture. That starts at the entrance and ends, well, never really.
The most visited room in any venue is the toilet. Guests go there several times in an evening. It is a moment away from the noise, a chance to catch your breath, maybe a photo for the story. Exactly the moment when an unexpected touch lands hardest.
A mirror ball does something simple: it surprises. And that surprise gets shared. On phones, in conversations, in reviews. Small investment, big effect.
What we supplied
For each of the five toilets we picked a 30 centimetre mirror ball, big enough to fill the room and compact enough for a small washroom. The lighting comes from the Beamz BWA63 LED AluPAR, a reliable spot with a good beam angle and a clean colour spectrum. All neatly mounted, safely fixed, ready for daily use.
No loose cables, no temporary fixings. A tidy installation that still looks exactly the same two years from now.
Experience is the whole picture
The lesson from this project is simple. If you invest in atmosphere, carry that line all the way through. Not only the terrace, not only the bar, not only the lighting above the dance floor. Every corner of your venue shapes how guests experience your place and how they remember it.
